Only in Seattle

Last night during his closing remarks, Wales Foundation board member Dave Bukey said the foundation gambled correctly in having the symposium on a Friday night. And moderator C.R. Douglas said "only in Seattle" would so many come out to talk about mental illness at the weekend.

Congressman McDermott made the same point Saturday morning: "Only in Seattle would so many people come out at 9 a.m. on a Saturday morning to discuss mental health in a dark, windowless room."

McDermott began his remarks by saying these forums were especially timely given the recent attack on his colleague Gabrielle Giffords, who was shot at a constituent forum in Arizona in January.
